Surprise drop

Memes on your homescreen?????

SUPRISE NERDS!

I made an iOS app!

It’s called Meme Widget and it’s literally just a widget that goes on your homescreen and flashes a new funny meme every time you refresh your phone.

That’s it!

I pick funny memes, you open your phone and see new ones every time!

If you want a laugh every time you open your phone, download Meme Widget here.

Meme Widget is the ultimate shits and giggles project.

Whereas my meme marketing software Memelord Technologies is built to let you edit memes and make more money with your meme marketing, Meme Widget is just to make you giggle every time you open your phone! Quick note: Meme Widget is a separate subscription from Memelord Technologies because of its low price ($2.99/mo).

If you’re interested in how/why I made the app, keep reading….

How I went from idea to iOS app in 1 week

The cool thing about launching a niche project like Memelord Technologies is it attracts other internet weirdos into your orbit.

Within a few weeks of launch, a new customer sent me an email saying he and his brother develop apps. At first, I ignored it. I thought it was a sales pitch. But I figured I have this idea for a meme widget and why not jump on a call? So we jumped on a call and I told them about Meme Widget idea and explained how we can plug it into my meme marketing engine, and they said they’d be down to partner 50/50. It’s the perfect combo: they’re killer devs but don’t yet have the marketing/distribution like I have.

So it’s Tuesday October 15th, and we’re on the phone and they say they can build the Meme Widget in less than a week. I don’t fucking believe them. They’ve never built a widget but they said they can figure it out. Uhhhh ok, I say yolo let’s do it no cost for me. We schedule a call to update me for the following Monday. I have low expectations. Frankly I think I’ll never hear from them again. (I literally just met them on the call)

Well I’ll be damned. On Monday, we jump on a call and these crazy motherfuckers built basically the entire app in less than a week. They walk me through the wireframe and design. It’s even better than I expected. Same Windows 95 nostalgia vibes as Memelord Technologies with sick Windows 95 icons. Smart goofy copywriting. Memes on my homescreen. I love it. It’s basically done. They only didn’t officially finish it because it was one of their birthdays and they were partying (#respect). We talk about a few quick things to change and I started getting more updates the next day.

Changes made.

They send over a TestFlight for me and my friends to start testing the app. I send it around and ask for feedback. There’s some bugs and they wanna clarify on a call something so we jump on FaceTime. One of the bros is shirtless working out in garage gym. I was like oh fuck these guys are cracked grinders like me. Coding all day and night, drinking Red Bull, working out in between. We talk about some changes. They fixed ‘em all in hours.

We’re ready to ship live to App Store.

We get accepted first try!

By Wednesday October 23rd, we’re live on the app store.

WTF I HAVE AN APP ON THE APP STORE. The only reason we didn’t officially launch on socials or here is because I was off partying and dealing memes to billionaires and heretics. So here we are, my first foray into iOS apps.

How am I gonna grow it????

Organically obviously!

We’re gonna plug Meme Widget into my marketing engine. See that’s the beauty of building in 1 vertical. It keeps shit simple.

I don’t need to go build a new audience for Meme Widget. If you’ve been following me or reading my newsletter or read my book Memes Make Millions or use my software Memelord Technologies, you’re probably going to be into Meme Widget. It’s all the same meme vertical. (See that’s why I named my company Memelord Technologies with an “ies” instead of Memelord Technology. I’m building a whole suite of technology for memelords!!!)

I see a lot of entrepreneurs trying to build businesses in 100 different niches. Their lack of focus is my competitive advantage. Rather than building 1 audience around meme marketing and 1 audience around coffee for a coffee brand, I can just build 1 audience for all my memetic products from software to books to consulting to merch and more.

If you love the vertical you’re in (memes for me), then why leave that vertical? I’ve made a lot of cool stuff—but there’s still so much I haven’t yet…. 😉

This is just the beginning of worldwide memelord domination, nerds. Get ready. 😈
